Drones

Drones

Over the past year, Innovate Tech Camps has launched a module on Aerial Robotics which focused specifically on drones and drone technology.

Drones are amazing because they can do so much. Aerial media can be collected for industries, monitoring traffic, inspections of buildings, towers and bridges etc. Instead of making people climb up roofs and other dangerously high places, drones can be sent to take photos or conduct various inspections which is great progress. Technology should be used for dangerous jobs so that people do not have to take those risks.

At Innovate, students learn about drones, how they are used, why they are becoming important, how they work and other facts about drones. Plus, they learn how to handle drones and fly responsibly through set tasks.

Through Aerial Robotics, students understand the amazing things about drone technology and how this technology impacts the world and they start to think more deeply about the various industries that will greatly benefit from using drones – which is what innovation is all about.

Subtractive Manufacturing for Students

Subtractive Manufacturing for Students

At Innovate Tech Camps Australia, we have been running many 3D design and printing holiday workshops for kids and teens over 3 years. This year, we are pleased to introduce our students to a new module which is Subtractive Manufacturing.

Students will venture into Subtractive Manufacturing which involves design and manufacturing! Subtractive manufacturing is a process by which 3D objects are constructed by successively cutting material away from a solid block of material. Yes, design and carve your own project.

Subtractive manufacturing can be done by manually cutting the material but is most typically done with a CNC Machine.

One of the advantages of subtractive manufacturing is the variety of materials that can be used, from wood and metal to plastics and acrylics to plasma. (Finer applications such as laser engravers work with an even wider array of materials.) CNC is widely used in manufacturing, and can be found in most facilities.

We are excited to launch this brand new, innovative module into our STEAM classrooms and have students designing and making their own projects.

Innovate Tech Camps – 20th Tech Camp

Innovate Tech Camps – 20th Tech Camp

It’s Innovate Tech Camps 20th tech camp! Hurray!

We simply can’t imagine having reached our 20th tech camp in 2018. Way back in 2013 when we had our first tech camp, it was with the old LEGO Mindstorms NXT model for the Grade 3 to 6 students and Lego WeDo 1.0 for the junior students.

It was with the very cool LEGO Green City Challenge which kids found so exciting and come to think of it, although we were way smaller then in terms of classes and programs, we all had heaps of fun but we have never looked back since.

Innovate Tech Camps went on to develop various other STEM courses which focused on robotics, coding, technology and digital literacy. We have welcomed kids and teens from all over Victoria, various states of Australia and even overseas visitors. We fondly remember sharing great memories with lovely kids and teens who came in to learn because they love technology.

It’s been a great ride and we thank all our Innovate Tech Camps Alumni and the parents for entrusting your precious kids to us. We will continue to grow and develop even more programs in the near future. See you at one of our future camps soon!

Aerial Robotics – The Force Up High

Aerial Robotics – The Force Up High

Many of us love drones! Drones come in various shapes and sizes and really make for an exciting way to discover and be a part of aerial robotics.

Drones are nice to fly and they have a lot to offer but how many of us understand how they work, how to use them wisely and safely and where to fly them? Plus, deepen our understanding of aerodynamics and gravity, how they can be coded and more.

Aerial robotics is great for students to understand concepts behind drones rather than just become consumers of such advanced technology. There is so much to learn, understand and also take flight!

Innovate’s first Aerial Robotics (Drones) holiday module was a great success with students flying drones through obstacles which were challenging to navigate and flying drones through simulation scenarios!

Have you been on the ground long enough? It’s time to take your learning to greater heights with Aerial Robotics. Fly high this coming Spring 2017 by checking out our holiday programs.

3D Blocks for kids

3D blocks have been used at Innovate Tech Camps Australia's programs for the past three seasons and they have been a hit. These 3D blocks are able to connect vertically and horizontally to create all sorts of creative models from animals to people to flowers, minecraft creeper, trucks, cars and more.

These blocks are so versatile, they intrigue the students who find them challenging and yet fun. 3D blocks gets students to think through how they connect from one block to another and develop their motor skills at the same time.

Come and join in our Smart Cubes and learn how these impressive STEM blocks connect together to create some really cool things.

STEM Programs in the Fall

Autumn 2016 has some new modules available for the next holidays. What a great time we had at Tech Summer School. Check our Autumn selection.

STEM Programs in the Fall
Young Explorer (Grades 1 to 3)
Young Inventor (Grades 4 to 6)
Teen Innovator (Grades 7 and above)

Don't miss out!
