Welcome to the Innovate Chess Academy for Kids and Teens based in Melbourne, Australia. We have courses for students who would love to learn chess and develop or improve their problem solving, critical thinking skills and their ability to focus. Our curriculum is designed by experts and taught in schools internationally. We aim to teach critical thinking, logic, reasoning, and other life and social skills through scholastic chess instruction, to today’s youth.

Our academy programs are best suited for kids from Grade 1 to 12 and delivered online with a combination of  lecture and discussion format with organized play between the students.

Designed for Kids and Teens from Grade 3 to 6 with little or no exposure to chess. All students will gain an understanding of how to play chess and and receive knowledge on the rules of the game. Course outcomes include, learning basic chess theory and game strategies for middle and end games of chess.

Students start by learning the foundational basics of the chess game, and then build upon the foundation to understanding key strategies for winning games. Each class starts with explanation and discussion, followed by, for the remaining duration of each class, virtual chess games between the chess academy students, with live coaching and feedback by the instructor. We host our live virtual games online, on our leading scholastic virtual chess platform. All students can purchase an additional premium “Gold Membership” to the online chess education platform while they are enrolled in chess academy program.  

Students will increase their knowledge of chess strategies and have a thorough foundational understanding of the game of chess, how to plan ahead, and how to win against their peers. They will also leave with a good understanding of how competitive chess tournaments are structured, and will feel prepared to compete against peers of their age and skill levels.

Chess Academy for Teens –

Grade 7 to 12

8 Week course (online) 

This course is designed for teens aged 13 to 18 years old. The course outcomes include, improving students skills, learning new game strategies and complete knowledge of all rules. 

Private  Coaching for Chess

Grade 1 to 12

10 Week course (online) 

Our private coaching chess classes run for 60 minutes. It is a great way to fast track the learning process.
