Young Explorer Technology & Robotics Holiday programs for Kids in Auckland

Our Young Explorer Programs caters for students in GRADE 1 to Grade 2 and are designed to allow them the ability to innovate through play. We have a range of tools which will bring out the creativity in every student. More kids are starting to innovate at a younger age as more parents believe in the importance of a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) education.

Course Description: SMART CUBES

Prerequisite: Ability to work in teams with a positive attitude to learning and able to attend the session independently. No prior experience required.

Grades 1 & 2 | Date: 2 October 2017, Monday | Time: 9.00am – 3.00pm (1 day program) | 2 Kingsland Terrace Kingsland, Auckland 1021, New Zealand | Cost: NZD $160

Explore a half a day of robotics and building, all using smart cubes! Young students will be introduced into the world of robotics with the famous Cubelets. Make all sorts of robots as each cube has a different function. Students will learn about Sense, Think and Action blocks and how these give their robots different outputs. Explore sensors and how robots work as the Cubelets allow for creativity – students can place them in different ways and create a variety of different robots  with no wires or programming involved! A great way to start on a robotics education.

Students will move on to using 3D STEM blocks which have studs that help them connect to other colourful blocks and create a variety of different animals, cars and all sorts of other interesting objects. Students will build their motor skills as well as improve their creative thinking skills as these blocks are both tricky to connect and yet highly engaging for kids. Great for kids who love blocks, bricks and builds!

A very hands on STEM module for kids who love to explore and create through play.

Our technology curriculum is based on a blended learning strategy. We couple live one-on-one instruction with our academy game plan, our innovative learning engine, to provide students with properly paced learning. Most of our courses at Innovate Tech Camps are for beginner through to advanced students.

Our entire staff is comprised of adults ages 18 and over who have mastered their technology skills. Some of our instructors are tech industry professionals. Others are graduate and undergraduate students majoring in the fields of Computer Science, Computer Engineering and other related fields. All staff have a valid Working With Children Check.

At Innovate Tech Camps, balance is very important. Our courses are fun and engaging. We want you to develop genuine passion for STEAM subjects, to keep on discovering and exploring. We want you to have fun and learn a lot. In between the course, you can expect supervised breaks, social time and outdoor play  – to take your eyes away from technology and into the open.
