ROBOTICS  PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Innovate Technology and Robotics Academy provides technology, coding and robotics education and training programs for kids and teens. Innovate is an award winning robotics academy in Melbourne, Australia. At Innovate, students will learn robotics, technology, leadership skills and a wholesome STEM education in a fun, engaging and highly interactive environment together with like minded peers. Students do not need any prior experience in robotics to be a part of our academy programs. Be a part of Australia's young generation of innovators.

Students will learn about the big world of robotics, technology and other scientific concepts. They will explore how things work, question how and why those things work and apply the same concept of critical thinking and problem solving to the very tools they are required to work with. Students will get to build and program robots according to a specific curriculum provided by Innovate Technology and Robotics Academy.

Students also learn about robotics in the real world and find a solution pathway to solve engineering challenges.

CODING PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Innovate Online Coding Academy is an after school coding academy for kids and Teens in Australia, New Zealand and across the world who are interested in advancing their knowledge and skills in computer science. The Online Coding Academy is an extension of the Innovate Program which has the primary focus on getting students to code, learn, upskill and challenge themselves.

Coding is an important skill to prepare students for the jobs which already exist and the jobs to be. Many more jobs are coming up which require good knowledge of coding and a computer science background. Through coding, students will learn about logic, computational thinking, improve their critical thinking and problem solving skills. What's more, they get to build on their soft skills such as resilience, communication and learning to work with others successfully while working on their challenges. They will develop an understanding of how the web works and create working websites.

By learning how to code, students will enhance their digital literacy skills, improve their ability to focus on the tasks at hand and learn how to use the computer productively to their advantage. They will have a better understanding of how programs work and the enjoyment that comes with thinking through things and creating something that works.


Prerequites: Suitable for students who have a keen interest in Robotics, Computer Science and Technology related subjects. No prior experience is required. Good core values in the classroom is expected

The popular Robotics Academy is suitable for students who love STEM, engaging activities and who wish to take on their learning of robotics to a higher and deeper level with progression along our academic pathway. The Robotics Academy is also suited for beginners with a great attitude of wanting to learn a complex and interesting system.

Students will learn robotics with different smart motors, sensors, gears, chains, tank threads, shafts pulleys and much more. Engineering for students! While also developing their building skills, students will also be taught coding with ROBOT C which is a popular programming language for software development and are building a foundation that sets up a perfect pipeline to future robotics competitions, college, university and a career.

Students at the Robotics Academy are provided with fun fields to play with various kits and challenges, to get into the competitive atmosphere of the Innovate's Robotics Competitions and external competitions. Through the year, students will learn a variety of different projects and participate in other engineering challenges as part of Innovate's curriculum (students will have to be in the academy for a year to experience these additional activities and secondary modules listed below). With our interactive learning environment, students are able to learn while making new friends, learn how to work in teams, problem solve, develop their critical thinking skills and gain a wholesome STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) education.

PYTHON CODING ACADEMY  [ONLINE]

A comprehensive course for the Python programming language – For the Coding Enthusiast! If you have never programmed before, already know basic syntax, or want to learn more about Python this course is for you! In this course we will teach you using the latest versions of Python. Python is an easy programming language and suited for beginners. Plus Python is a great language to have on your resume as Python programmers are much sought after.

This course will teach you Python in a practical manner, with step by step instructions, activities and projects (example: simple games) to complete. Best suited for students who want to learn another well used programming language.

Kids & Teen Coding programs are for students who are interested in learning how to code and create complete real world projects. In preparation for the jobs of today and the future, more students are learning important programming languages such HTML, CSS and Javascript.
HTML & CSS

HTML is the the foundation behind all web pages. It's used to add structure and form to text, images, and more. CSS is the language used to style HTML content.

HTML is a type of markup language. It encapsulates, or “marks up” data within HTML tags, which define the data and describe its purpose on the webpage. The web browser then reads the HTML, which tells it things like which parts are headings, which parts are paragraphs, which parts are links, etc. The HTML describes the data to the browser, and the browser then displays the data accordingly.

That’s how the browser knows that. You'll learn the fundamentals of both languages so that you can create visually appealing web pages.

Javascript

JavaScript (which, confusingly, is not at all related to Java) is another favorite programming language because it's so ubiquitous on the web--it's basically everywhere. JavaScript allows developers to add interactive elements to their website, and its presence is felt across the internet.

ADVANCED SYSTEMS ROBOTICS ACADEMY [ONLINE]

The Advanced Systems Academy takes robotics to a higher level and is most suited for students who are interested in mechatronics, robotics and technology and who are looking at exploring mechatronics and robotics in their high school years in preparation for university. No prior experience is required but students are required to participate fully and willing to work with others as a team.

In the Advanced Systems Academy, students will be working with advanced robotics systems such as Circuits, Electronics, Artificial Intelligence, Arduino based systems and VEX Robotics plus be able to experience Competitive Robotics by participating the the yearly VEX Robotics Competition.

Students also learn about the engineering driven VEX V5 Robotics system and Robot C. Get ready now for the future you are aiming for. To maximize the learning of all of these systems, it is recommended that students remain part of the academy for at least a year.

GAME DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY - MINECRAFT EDUCATION [ONLINE]

APP MAKING CODING ACADEMY [ONLINE]

MIT App Inventor is an intuitive, visual programming environment that allows everyone – even children – to build fully functional apps for smartphones and tablets. Those new to MIT App Inventor can have a simple first app up and running in a short amount of time.

The blocks-based tool facilitates the creation of complex, high-impact apps in significantly less time than traditional programming environments. Students will work on MIT App Inventor project through the term. Students will be able to democratize software development by empowering all people, especially young people, to move from technology consumption to technology creation.

Program Key Terms for Enrollments & Renewals

  • Bookings /Renewals for every term can be done on this page.
  • Fees can be paid anytime during the current term for the next term before the due date.
  • Fees must be paid in full before a student can enter the program every term.
  • There are no make up classes for this program if a student does not come for class. Public holidays are made up with either an extra lesson or session hours added on which will be decided by Innovate Academy.
  • No parent / guardian is permitted to stay in the classroom as the program promotes independent learning.
  • Laptops are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Limited places available for students who do not have their own laptops. If the laptops have been booked out, other students may join this program on the condition that they BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Windows Laptop. If the maximum number of students is reached, registration will close.
