WEEK 1 PROGRAMS ONLINE VICTORIAN SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

MINECRAFT EDUCATION – BLOCK CODING (ONLINE)

19 September to 23 September 2022 | 08.30 am to 09.30 am

Students learn to code using Minecraft Education edition which has a digital curriculum and provides boundless opportunities for students to explore computer science concepts, enhance their digital learning and literacy, all while also having fun, which is what learning should be like.

CHESS FOR KIDS ROOKIE (ONLINE)

19 September to 23 September 2022 | 9.45 am to 10.45 am

A multiple day course, it is an introduction to chess and the rules of the game. Students will acquire knowledge of chess build on chess theory and develop basic chess strategies.

LEARN PYTHON (ONLINE)

19 September to 23 September 2022 | 11.00 am to 12.00 pm

A multiple day computer science course which focuses on the basics of Python programming language. Python is an important coding language which is an important coding skill to have. This course introduces students to Python and teaches the basics of Python through activities and a set curriculum aimed at Python beginners.

VEX IQ VIRTUAL (ONLINE)

19 September to 23 September 2022 | 12.15 pm to 1.15 pm

This is a multiple day online robotics course. VEXcode VR lets you code a virtual robot using a block based coding environment powered by Scratch Blocks. This course teaches coding concepts and the use of block based codes which allows for online engagement in robotics and learning how to code the robot through various obstacles and missions.

Learn Web Development using HTML, CSS and Javascript (ONLINE)

26 September to 30 September 2022 | 08.30 am to 09.30 am

Students will understand how the internet works and understand key web design concepts and learn to design and build W3C standards aligned webpages using HTML and CSS syntax.

LEARN PYTHON (ONLINE)

26 September to 30 September 2022 | 9.45 am to 10.45 am

A multiple day computer science course which focuses on the basics of Python programming language. Python is an important coding language which is an important coding skill to have. This course introduces students to Python and teaches the basics of Python through activities and a set curriculum aimed at Python beginners.

26 September to 30 September 2022 | 11.00 am to 12.00 pm

3D DESIGN (ONLINE)

This 3D Design and Printing course allows students to learn all about Additive Manufacturing online from the comfort of home. Students will learn how to design their 3D models and how additive manufacturing is important in today’s world and the wonderful benefits it has. Students will learn the design framework and will ideate and design 3d projects exploring design of basic objects to robots.

Course Description:  It’s not just play! In this module, students will learn to code using Minecraft Education edition (block coding) which has a digital curriculum and provides boundless opportunities for students to delve into computer science concepts and coding with a ton of exploration and learning. Through Minecraft Education, students will enhance their digital learning and literacy, all while also having fun, which is what learning should be like.
