MINECRAFT EDUCATION CODING CHALLENGE – Level 1

29 June – 3 July | 09.00 am to 10.30 am

This is a multiple day  online Minecraft introductory course suitable for students who would like an introduction to the world of Minecraft, coding and creating. Minecraft  is popular with kids as it is a very versatile environment which allows students to be creative, learn to code, to develop their creative skills and collaborate with others.

VEX IQ VIRTUAL ROBOTICS – Level 1

29 June – 3 July | 09.00 am to 10.30 am

This is a multiple day online robotics course. VEXcode VR lets you code a virtual robot using a block based coding environment powered by Scratch Blocks. This is a block code course which allows for online engagement in robotics even without the physical robot with virtual environments.

PYTHON – Level 2

6 July – 10 July | 11.00 am to 12.30 pm

Python Level 2 is for students who must already have prior knowledge on the basics of Python and who need no introduction to the language.

CAD DESIGN – LEVEL 1 – LEGO DIGITAL DESIGNER

6 July – 10 July | 09.00 am to 10.30 am

Students will delve into an important part of robotics which is using CAD (Computer Aided Design). Using Lego digital Designer, students will learn and design robots and other robotic parts which is an integral part of robotics.

MINECRAFT EDUCATION CODING CHALLENGE – Level 2

29 June – 3 July | 11.00 am to 12.30 pm

The Minecraft Level 2 course is strictly for students who have had at least a basic understanding of Minecraft Education coding. In this course, students will learn about higher level Minecraft Coding.

INVENT WITH SCRATCH 3.0

29 June – 3 July | 11.00 am to 12.30 pm

A headstart into coding, this course which is focused on coding and creating with Scratch, is suitable for students who wish to learn coding using block based codes so that they understand logical thinking and develop their coding skills in a less intense coding environment. A great starter module for the new coder.

WEB DEVELOPMENT – LEVEL 1

6 July – 10 July | 1.00 pm to 2.30 pm

Web Development Level 1 is a course for students to learn the HTML and CSS coding language and create their own website in an interactive online learning environment. Learn code and create.

VEX VIRTUAL ROBOTICS – LEVEL 2

6 July – 10 July | 09.00 am to 10.30 am

This is a multiple day virtual robotics online course. Students must have had Level 1 virtual robotics experience. Using VEXcode VR, this module explores more challenging virtual robotics layouts.  Using Scratch Blocks, the budding coder will take on more challenges and apply their logical thinking to the robots to solve the missions.

ARCADE GAME DESIGN – Level 1

29 June – 3 July | 1.30 pm to 3.00 pm

A holiday program for students to  develop and enhance their coding skills. Students can create and modify retro arcade games. They will use Block codes and JavaScript in the MakeCode editor. Suitable for the interested gamer and those who would like to learn coding on a new platform.

A multiple day Python online course. This course will teach you Python coding  in a practical manner, with step by step instructions, activities and projects to complete. Best suited for students who want to learn another well used and highly sought  after programming language.

WEB DEVELOPMENT – LEVEL 2

Web Development Level 2 – Students who attend this course should already have prior knowledge in HTML / CSS and been keen to learn new and more challenging concepts.

A course for the seriously interested student in the field of robotics. This module focuses on CAD (Computer Aided Design) which is an essential part of a robotics education for students. Students will design robot in the virtual environment, discover and overcome the complexity of robot designs virtually.

Course Description: This is a multiple day online course. Minecraft  is popular with kids of all ages. It is a very versatile environment which allows students to be creative. Course Description: Minecraft Education Coding Level 2 is for students who have done Level 1 or who have learned Minecraft Education Coding at Innovate Academy.

Building on their Level 1 skills, they will take on new learning. They will advance their knowledge on their concepts learned in Level 1 which will take them to a higher level of learning on this platform. Students will learn: (Variables, Conditionals, Functions, Iteration) at Level 2 and use their prior knowledge of Level 1 concepts to further this learning.

Course Description: Microsoft Arcade Game Design Course is for students who would like to develop and enhance their coding  skills on a game making platform.

Suitable for both amateur coders as well as those with some coding knowledge and wanting to learn more, this course teaches students how to create and modify retro arcade games with Block based codes. Using Block code helps less experienced coders understand sequences the output of each code more easily before moving towards advanced programming languages.

The course is for students interested in both games and modding games and who wish to build on their coding and logical thinking skills.

Prerequisite: Student should have  experience in Python of the concepts of Level 1, no less, to be able to do this course. Innovate Academy Python students are welcome to attend this module.

Course Description: Taking Python to a more advanced level, this course should be attended by students who have Level 1 knowledge of Python and nothing less than that so that they can take on the challenges this course has to offer.

Python Level 2 covers the following: (Collections, Lists, Tuples, Sets, Dictionaries, Classes/Objects, Inheritance, Iterators, Exception Handling – Try/Except, File Handling, Read Files, Write/Create Files, Delete Files).

As this is a more advanced course, it is suitable for students who are passed  the elementary stages of Python programming.

Course Description: Web Development Level 1 is a course for students to learn the HTML and CSS coding . For HTML, students will learn: (Elements, Attributes, Headings, Paragraphs, Links, Images, Tables, Lists, Block and Inline Elements, Classes, Id, Layout).

With CSS, students will learn: – (Syntax, Selectors, Comments, Colours, Backgrounds, Borders, Margins, Padding, Height/Width, Box Model, Outline, Text Formatting, Alignment, Decoration, Transformation, Spacing, Shadow, Fonts, Family, Style, Size, Google Fonts, Shorthand Font Property, Icons, Links, Lists, Tables).

Course Description: Web Development Level 2 – Students who attend this course should already have prior knowledge in HTML / CSS Level 1  concepts and be proficient  in those areas before coming to do Level 2.

Level 2 focuses on building on the knowledge of concepts learned at Level 1 and takes on more advanced learning. Level 2 covers the following:  CSS (Display, Max-width, Position, Overflow, Float, Clear, Inline-block, Align, Combinators, Pseudo-class, Pseudo-element, JavaScript, Syntax, Primitive Data Types, Objects, Properties, Methods, Events, Document Object Model, User Input, Type Casting, Arithmetic Operations, Comments, Conditionals, Functions, Iteration).
