Creative Coding & Game Systems Academy

Build games. Learn to think like an engineer.

A guided 90-minute introduction to coding, robotics or game design — designed to spark confidence and help us recommend the right pathway.

Computational thinking through play

Through guided, project-based learning, students learn how to break problems down, design solutions, and refine their ideas — developing skills that extend beyond games into real-world problem solving.

Artificial intelligence concepts are introduced through game behaviours and rule-based systems — non-player characters, decision trees and adaptive responses — building intuitive understanding of AI through creative coding rather than abstract theory.

Minecraft Education is used as one of the learning environments, where students apply coding concepts, logic and systems thinking to structured challenges. The focus is on purposeful creation and problem solving — not gameplay.

Computational thinking & logic

Decompose problems, design algorithms, debug like an engineer.

Creative coding & game design

Code as a creative tool — characters, levels, mechanics and storytelling.

Problem solving through iteration

Test, refine and improve — the engineering mindset.

Clear thinking & communication

Explain how systems work and reflect on design decisions.

Core learning areas

Students explore foundational coding concepts through creative projects.

  • Sequencing and logic
  • Variables and events
  • Inputs, outputs and state
  • Rule-based systems and conditions
  • Extended learning (introduced progressively)

As students progress, projects may include:

  • Game mechanics and rule systems
  • Interactive storytelling
  • Introduction to text-based coding concepts
  • Rule-based systems and conditions
  • Locations & enrolment
