MVPS STEM Program at Mount View Primary School
Empowering your child through STEM — right here at school (Years 1–6).
Only for MVPS Students
At Mount View Primary School in Glen Waverley, Innovate Technology & Robotics Academy delivers an engaging, structured STEM learning journey that helps students build confidence in coding, robotics, engineering thinking, and digital literacy—step by step, year after year.
Whether your child is just starting out in Year 1 or ready for bigger challenges in Year 6, our program is designed to grow with them.
Why families choose Innovate at MVPS
A clear pathway (Years 1–6): Skills build progressively each year—so students don’t just “try STEM,” they develop mastery over time.
Hands-on, minds-on learning: Students learn by designing, building, testing, improving, and solving real problems.
Confidence + capability: We help students become resilient problem-solvers who can explain their thinking and collaborate well.
Led by passionate educators: Experienced mentors who know how to teach STEM in a way that’s fun, structured, and supportive.
Future-ready outcomes: By the end of Year 6, students develop strong foundations for high school STEM subjects and beyond.
Flexible enrolment: Join at the start of any term (subject to availability).
Character & leadership growth: We nurture the whole child—not only technical skills, but also communication, initiative, and teamwork.
Choice and variety each week: Two program options across Wednesday and Thursday – choose what suits your child best.
Weekly programs at MVPS (Wednesday and Thursday)
1) Computer Science
Build core coding foundations through age-appropriate projects that develop logic, sequencing, and problem-solving.
Turn creativity into structured thinking as students design interactive games and learn how systems, rules, and user experience work.
2) Robotics
Hands-on engineering and robotics challenges that develop design thinking, building skills, and practical coding application.
Our Year 1–6 Learning Journey
Every year adds a new layer—so your child keeps moving forward:
Years 1–2: Foundations (logic, sequencing, creativity, collaboration)
Years 3–4: Skill-building (projects, patterns, problem-solving, confidence with tools)
Years 5–6: Advanced application (bigger builds, more complex coding, engineering challenges, real-world thinking)
(Exact content varies by age group and program stream to keep learning appropriately challenging and enjoyable.)
Certification pathways (optional extension)
For students who want to go further, we offer optional certification pathways in key STEM areas. This helps students:
set goals,
track progress,
gain confidence through achievement,
and build an early portfolio of skills.
Purposeful technology use (balanced screen time)
We understand many families want STEM learning without excessive “passive screen time.”
Our approach is purposeful, guided, and balanced:
technology is used to create, not consume,
learning includes hands-on building, discussion, teamwork, and reflection,
students are actively coached to develop strong habits and digital responsibility.
