MVPS COMPUTER SCIENCE ACADEMY (Year 3 to 6)

Program Description

Why Coding Matters for Your Child’s Future

Technology is reshaping every profession, making a strong foundation in computer science essential for today’s students. At Mount View Primary School, our coding modules are designed to equip your child with critical skills for both current and future careers. By learning to code, your child will not only understand how technology works but also gain the confidence and skills to shape the future.

Key Benefits of Learning to Code:

  • Future-Ready Skills: Coding prepares students for jobs that exist today—and those yet to be created. A background in computer science opens doors to countless opportunities.
  • Critical & Computational Thinking: Through coding, students develop logical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and computational thinking—skills vital for academic and life success.
  • Digital Literacy: Students gain practical experience with programming languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python, boosting their understanding of how computers and the internet work.
  • Soft Skill Development: Coding projects foster resilience, teamwork, effective communication, and creativity as students work together to overcome challenges.
  • Confidence & Creativity: Building real websites and programs gives students a sense of achievement and encourages creative exploration.
  • Productive Technology Use: Students learn to use computers as powerful tools for learning, creation, and innovation.
  • Preparation for the Future: Coding skills support success in secondary education, future projects, and the evolving job market.
  • Purposeful Technology Use: At Innovate Technology & Robotics Academy, we understand that some families are concerned about excessive screen time. Our approach to technology is purposeful, guided, and balanced — focused on creativity, problem-solving, and real-world skills. Read about our Purposeful Technology Use
